Supporting Baby Home Durban North: Providing Care for Vulnerable Children
South Africa is home to approximately 2.5 million vulnerable children, many of whom face abandonment, orphanhood, or uncertain futures. Baby Home Durban North offers a safe and nurturing environment for babies who have been abandoned, orphaned, or placed for adoption.
Led by Bjorn and Jo Teunissen, Baby Home Durban North provides not only essential care but also advocates for adoption as a valued and intentional part of family planning. Bjorn and Jo, both educators with a passion for children, began their adoption journey in 2014 when they welcomed their son, Emmanuel. Inspired by this experience, and with support from The Peace Agency, they opened Baby Home Durban North in December 2015. Since then, the home has provided care and stability to over 100 babies.
