The Diaper Fund is our flagship commencement programme reflecting our dedication and focus to reach out to baby homes and orphanages across South Africa.
THE DIAPER FUND – A BIG IMPACT
MAKING-A-DIFFERENCE NPC INITIATIVE
It all starts with a baby. By nurturing infants who cannot fend for themselves, we set an example and lay the foundation for a better future. Our goal is to establish reliable and compassionate partnerships with as many baby homes in South Africa as possible, providing them with the essential diapers they need.
By supplying diapers on a 12-month commitment cycle, we ensure baby homes can rely on a consistent supply, freeing up their limited budgets to address other pressing needs like food, medical care, or educational resources. For example, a baby home caring for six babies can use up to 20,000 diapers per year, costing around ZAR 70,000 (roughly USD 3,800). By covering this expense, we enable caregivers to redirect these funds to where they’re needed most.
The Diaper Fund is just the start. As we grow, we’ll expand our efforts to include other essentials like diaper rash cream, formula, and clothing. But for now, we’re starting with diapers—because every great journey begins with a single step.
WHY DIAPERS MATTER:
- Health: Clean, dry diapers prevent infections, rashes, and discomfort, ensuring babies stay healthy.
- Emotional Well-being: Comfortable diapers enable better cognitive development and overall happiness.
- Caregiver Support: Reliable access to diapers reduces stress for caregivers, allowing them to focus on providing love, care, and stability to the babies they serve.
Our Diaper Fund supports the establishment of a growing fund that will ripple outwards to supply many other essential items.

SUMMERHILL HOUSE
Summerhill House is a registered non-profit organization situated in an underprivileged community called Etete on the Dolphin Coast of KZN, SA. Their sole purpose is to provide holistic care for vulnerable, orphaned, and abandoned children through their children’s home (Village) and Community initiatives.
They work in and with the community, offering services and initiatives to uplift the lives of the children and their families. They create family-centric living environments. Each home has a housemother, who lovingly raises up 6 children, as her own.
Making-A-Difference wants to secure regular funding for Summerhill House. They currently need to commission a third house for six more babies at a rough cost of R24,000 per month.

GO GETTERS NETBALL
Germiston Go Getters is a free-to-participate netball program under Youth Development, currently in the process of registering as an NPO. They operate on the kindness of volunteers and, as registered with ENA, receive some support for training their coaches. They currently have 6 volunteers coaching 4 age divisions.
Their aim through the program is to journey with the players as far as they can go in their netball journey, ensuring that finances are not a barrier. They focus on helping the players visualize their goals and guide them along the journey. “We are so busy living the dream that outside negative influences are of no concern.”
Making-A-Difference wants to donate 15 netballs each year to the Germiston Go Getters.
